NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review in Chantilly

Hi everyone! This is my first review on a NARS product. Interestingly, I actually just recently learned that NARS cosmetics is owned by Shiseido cosmetics (a lovely Japanese cosmetics and skincare company). NARS was founded by Francois Nars, who is a photographer and makeup artist.

I was using a Maybelline concealer for years that I was happy with but then thought I would try something new. There has been an immensely huge buzz in the beauty world about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and it has become a favorite of many. The quality, coverage, and staying power has been compared to MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. But I actually think it is better, at least texture-wise.

So here is what I think of this concealer!

I like the packaging of this concealer. It's very strong and has that luxurious feel. I also like the black top, it's sorta rubbery and soft to the touch.

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer comes in 10 shades, which is quite impressive for concealer. Here are the shade names, from lightest to darkest:

Chantilly
Vanilla
Honey
Custard
Ginger
Biscuit
Caramel
Amande
Cafe
Cacao

I got mine in the lightest shade, Chantilly.

Here's some little color blocks of each shade:

I thought that Chantilly looked insanely light in the tube, but I wanted to get a really light concealer because I like using them for a highlighting effect. It's a lot lighter than my skin, but I do tend to use lighter concealers. So when I used it, I did see that yes indeed, it's super light, but I love it. I think Vanilla would also be great for me, but Chantilly just provides that extra highlighting effect that I like.

I really think this concealer is amazing. Not only does it perform so well, but it also has tons of skincare benefits. And when it says "Creamy" it really means it. This stuff is very hydrating! Most concealers are dry, at least that has been my experience.

The Radiant Creamy Concealer is formulated with antioxidant protection and also a botanical blend that reduces redness, firms the skin, and strengthens the skin. It also has a mineral tone powder and light diffusing technology that blurs imperfections. And it smooths and softens the skin. As you guys probably know by now, I'm a sucker for treatment makeup and makeup with multi-benefits. That is what drew me to this concealer, and also the fact that I heard it works so well.

And boy, it does. It's thin yet creamy, and you don't need a lot. It's definitely a medium to full coverage concealer, and it's buildable. It also stays put and doesn't budge. I get less creasing with this than other concealers. I find it impossible to find one that doesn't crease at all. I mean naturally, it really is kinda impossible not to crease at least some, and I think this one stands out from any others I have tried because there is quite minimal creasing. One thing is to make sure you don't have too much cream around your eyes when applying any concealer, because it will tend to break apart and crease more.

This is one product where I actually did notice a difference from, and that is rare. The skin under my eyes was drying out from other concealers and this one stopped that. It doesn't make my skin dry and it actually does hydrate the delicate skin under the eyes, and I can see a difference.  When wearing concealers, it seems to get dry in that area, and that doesn't happen with this one. Not to mention, my skin is fussy and it doesn't seem to like a lot of facial and skin products, it will get tight and sometimes red and irritated. But not with this! So it was instant love for this little guy.

This stuff blends amazingly. And it can be worn under or over foundation. Everyone is different. I prefer to put my concealer on over and after my foundation. I don't use this for blemishes, but I have heard that it works great for them.

This is good if you have sensitive skin and if you like less chemicals in your makeup. It is dermatologist tested, paraben free, alcohol free, synthetic fragrance free, non comedogenic, sulfate free, and phthalate free.

I use my Sephora beauty blender to apply this. Ever since I tried using beauty blenders there has been no going back for me. I just personally love them and I love the natural finish they give. There is nothing like it in my opinion. I don't get the same effect with brushes or my fingers. I highly recommend trying a beauty blender for your liquid makeup if you haven't already, because they are ahhhhhmazing! This of course, works just beautifully with my beauty blender. I just dot it around my eyes (and as I said, you don't need much) and then pat it all in with my blender. If you don't have a beauty blender, try patting it in with your fingers rather than swiping - it will look better.

For extra coverage you can use a little more, especially if you have really dark circles. I think this stuff is excellent for that, and it's also very long wearing.

Swatches: Chantilly, and blended on the left

You cannot notice much in the photo where I blended it in, because it's really close to the color of the inside of my arm, which is obviously lighter than the rest of me.

I am so happy with this concealer and so glad I bought it. Although I did always love my Maybelline concealer, this one just takes the cake. I am loving this. And it has definitely become my holy grail concealer, and I will most definitely be going back for more when this finishes. However, I think that will be a long time from now because a little goes a long way!

It is very long lasting and doesn't fade off. It has beautiful benefits for the skin, so you're not only concealing, but you are treating your skin. It's gentle, it's lightweight, creamy and so hydrating. If you haven't already, you should try this. You won't be disappointed!
