NYX Powder Blush Review

NYX Powder Blush Review in Pinched

Hi everyone! This is my first review on a NYX product, so I'm pretty excited. NYX Cosmetics is a very popular (and super affordable) drugstore brand. NYX has everything you can imagine, and at some of the most inexpensive prices I have ever seen. Don't let the low prices fool you - NYX's products are very high quality and are saturated in color.

NYX doesn't stand for anything, the name is actually derived from Greek mythology and means "Goddess of the Night". Interesting! The brand has been around since 1999, and what is really cool about them, is they never discontinue their shades. Ever. So you can always be guaranteed that your favorite colors will be available.

NYX Cosmetics products can be found all over the world and they keep getting more and more popular over the years, mostly because of their richly pigmented products and affordable prices.

Here we go with my review on one of the NYX Powder Blushes!

NYX Powder Blush in Pinched

There is an enormous total of 29 shades in the Powder Blush line. This amazes me, because most brands don't have even half of that for their blush shades!

Here are all 29 shades to choose from:

NYX Powder Blush shades

With these shades, you've pretty much got every possible kind of color you'd want, from beiges and bronzes, to peaches and corals, to berry colors and pinks. And they are all stunning and come in different finishes.

I chose Pinched, which is actually one of NYX's most famous blush shades. It is described as a "coral pink with gold glitter and iridescence", which pretty much sums it up. It's a pretty bright punchy pink with peach tones to it. It also has tiny little micro sparkles in it and it definitely gives a radiant glow.

The texture of this blush is really nice. I find that it's very silky, smooth and soft. The NYX signature quilted design helps to easily transfer the product onto your brush.

This blush is insanely pigmented. The first time I used this, I had to take a bunch of it off my cheek because the color is so saturated and rich that it's easy to over-do it and make yourself look like a clown (and we don't want that). This is soooo pigmented! I can't say that enough. The tiniest little bit of this will give your cheeks the perfect flushed color. So you need to go really easy on this and pick up a small amount and also use a very light hand. As for blending, I found it a little harder to blend out than my other blushes, but for the beautiful color it's worth it to have to put a little more work into blending now and then. This would be the only downfall of the blush for me.

This shade is also well known for being a dupe for NARS' iconic Orgasm blush. I have to say, it really is almost completely identical - at a fraction of the cost.

This color is also universally flattering, no matter how pale or how dark your skin is, this will look beautiful. And it's very long lasting. I don't have any issues with this blush fading away as the hours pass. It seems to stay put and look the same all day.

In my opinion this color goes best with an overall cool makeup look, but it can still work with warm colors, especially neutrals. But anything will work, from bright eye colors to nudes. As I said, it's really pigmented and I find it's a very punchy pop of color, so I usually use this if I go easier with things on my eyes, that way I can be heavier and more bright on my cheeks without overdoing it.

Swatch: Pinched

This blush is gorgeous. It definitely delivers a healthy, radiant glow. I love this color and its beautiful pearly sheen and iridescence. It's nice to have this in my collection. It's certainly one of a kind.

NYX is also a cruelty-free brand, something I really appreciate.

If you are looking for a bright, rich and very pigmented blush, this would be an excellent choice.

Pinched looks to be a very pigmented blush and a gorgeous colour. I like that there is a little shimmer to it.
