Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Review

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Review in Diffused Light

Hi ladies! I am a big fan of Hourglass Cosmetics. Their products are super high quality and really stand out in the beauty world.

Carisa Janes is the founder of this beautiful brand that is known for it's breakthrough formulas and innovations. All of the products are infused with only the very best ingredients for the best performance and look. The packaging is also quite sophisticated and the products are skin-improving and luxurious.

Today I will be reviewing one of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. Let's begin!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders are universally flattering finishing powders that you can use in a few different ways. There are 6 shades to choose from:

Ethereal Light
Diffused Light
Dim Light
Mood Light
Luminous Light
Radiant Light

All 6 Ambient Lighting Powders

I chose Diffused Light, which is described as a "soft, warm pale yellow". I can see an ever so slight hint of yellow but it doesn't really show on the skin. It's more of cream colored white-ish powder. It's supposed to mimic the effect of soft rays of morning sunshine on your face.

The packaging is very sleek and pretty. It's also very sturdy. I cannot imagine breaking the top off this one like I have with many of my other compacts (I can be bad for that). This one is strong.

These powders capture and soften the way light reflects off your skin. They give the look of being under certain lightings. They also brighten the skin and conceal imperfections. They contain advanced soft-focus particles that help to make the skin look airbrushed and radiant.

The cool thing about these powders is they can be used for any skin-tone and will create a beautiful affect on your complexion no matter what color your skin is.

Each powder shade can be used differently. I got Diffused Light for the purpose of setting my concealer and foundation. I only use it around the center of my face (under the eyes, inner cheeks and along cheekbones, down the nose, on the chin and center of the forehead - these are the highlighting areas that I like to use this on). I then use another powder for setting the rest of my face. I just like to use this for some added glow in those areas. And it works amazingly! I love it!

Diffused Light can also be used all over the face. It's up to you. You can also use it as a browbone highlight/color, and an all over the lid shade as a base, a cheekbone highlight, etc.

Some of the other colors that are darker, like Luminous Light or Radiant Light, can be used as all over the face bronzers, or just around the contours, or even as highlights depending on your skin tone. They can be used to bronze up your face or when applied more lightly just to add a beautiful, healthy glow. All of the shades are amazing.

I'm really happy with the texture of this powder. It's very light and smooth and creamy. It makes the perfect setting powder for me. I love the color, it's just right and doesn't make me look washed out at all. It just sort of melts into the skin and gives a soft glow. The only issue is I noticed that this seems to settle ever so slightly into my pores as the day goes on. Other than that, I don't have any gripes about this powder.

These powders are also very suitable for sensitive skin types (like me!) because they are free of:

I love how these give a lit-from-within glow. I also find the powder lasts all day and doesn't budge.

Swatches: Diffused Light

I of course swatched it quite heavily on my skin and fingers for the picture (so you can really see what it looks like). But it won't look that white on your face! You just dust a tiny amount on your face wherever you like.

I am really happy with this powder. It's the perfect finishing/setting powder. If you want a subtly highlighting powder to set your foundation, this is excellent for that. It's also great for using all over the face and wherever you like. It's super silky and soft and very pigmented. I use the tiniest amount.

I definitely recommend this! You can get this powder HERE
